That Point

Have been away from blogging world almost a month. The last time I updated this blog when I was in South Korea. Now, I am very much safe and sound in Malaysia. Didn't get to do daily updates of my trip in South Korea cause I was tired everyday. Might slowly do short updates in the future (well, more likely in the next few years, haha!)

Short overall reflection about my trip to South Korea is coming soon! :)

Anyway, talking about that point. I think I have reached that point when I started to lose my self confidence and question my self-worth. Can't help but to feel that way when you have been unemployed for almost 5 months. I know I am going to hit this point at some point in my life. However, I never thought that I will reach this point at the age of 23.

Please pray that seorang Farah will get a job soon cause I don't want to dwell myself with this negativity anymore.

[#FarahXSouthKorea] Day 5,6 & 7

I was so tired for the past few days that I pass out every time I reach my guesthouse. Decided to abandon this blog for few days cause I need my sweet rest. hehe!

Day 5

We Are Young
We Are Young

1. I actually planned to go to few places cause I have been wasting time for the past few days. Places that were on my list are Hongdae Free Market, City Hall, Seoul Forest, and Common Ground. However, things went south as I woke up late (again!).

2. I decided to walk from Hapjeong-dong to Hongdae cause I want to see the view albeit it's quite far.

3. I took a wrong turn when heading to Hongdae and it led me to the discovery of an indie band called We Are Young. I seriously can listen to them all day long. Initially, I was at their rehearsal around 2:15ish and then, I decided to come to the actual show at 3 PM. I spent about half an hour to 45 minutes listening to them. I did not regret the decision! haha.

4. While waiting for their actual show, I managed to find a shop that sells screen protector. Alhamdulillah! And of course I, being an impulsive consumer, I bought a new case for my phone too! Terbang duit T___T

5. After that, I went to the Hongdae Free Market. Ya Allah, there were so many cute stuffs here. Really wanted to buy them all but I was not in a position to do that. However, I managed to snatch few cute postcards! The artist gave me a free sticker cause I bought quite a lot of postcards.

6. As I know that I will not have enough time to go to all places that were on my list, I decided to stay at Hongdae and enjoy the chaos.

7. I'll just have to say it here so that my future self will remember. Hongdae makes my senses overload!

8. I went around to see numbers of buskers but decided to stay and watch performance of Busan buskers. Totally loved their performance cause they sang few songs that I know. The feels! They got quite a response whenever they sang H.O.T, Sech Kies, GOD, Busker Busker, and Cool songs!

Day 6

20 Space

1. Wanted to be more active as my time in Seoul is running out! Decided to go the places that I plan to go on day 4.

2. I started off at Common Ground. I love Common Ground for the place is so Instagrammable. But, that's about it. I just wish I went to there with someone so that the said person can help me taking my pictures. hehe!

3. Then, I headed off to CUBE Entertainment and its cafe 20 Space. These places were not on my plan for day 5 but the I bumped into the girls that I met during the free concert and they told me that they are very near to Common Ground. It was one station away but of course, I like to torture myself. I actually walked from Common Ground to CUBE Entertainment.

4. Didn't see anyone that I know (well, I only know B2ST and BtoB) but I think I saw few trainees. Oh, I totally need to say this. All the things in the cafe are way overprice. Such a great way to ripoff fangirls, eh. haha!

5. Talking about BtoB, I decided not to go to a joint concert (I already have a ticket) where I can see BtoB along with VIXX, GFRIEND, Twice, and Gugudan perform in one stage because the venue is two hours away from Seoul. I was so sad :(

6. I went to Seoul Forest after that. A lot of walking was involved. haha! My legs were stumbling along the way. lol! Didn't get to see the whole Seoul Forest because that place is huge! However, I get to see deer and I think I saw the playground that Seoun and Seojun went in one episode of TROS.

7. Before I reach Seoul Forest, I discovered the Understand Avenue. Like I said on my Instagram post, it looks like a mini Common Ground.

8. The last place that I went for day 5 is Seokcheon Lake. I went there to see the Super Moon but masya Allah, there were a lot of people! Like a lot! Was planning to blah from the lake but I changed my mind and decided to join the crowd. Tak larat nak datang balik!

Day 7

Haneul Park

1. I just discovered there are few Malaysians staying at my guesthouse! Seronoknya dapat cakap BM :D

2. I ditched my original plan cause I don't feel like doing it. haha! I originally planned to go to Insadong, Bukchon Hanok Village, Changdeokgung, and take Ppang Ppang Cruise. Proud yet sad to say that I did not do any of that.

3. Instead, I went to Haneul Park. Ya Allah, I'm so in love with this park! I spent almost 5 hours at this park enjoying the view (and because of the rain too!). It's not on its peak now but I can only imagine how beautiful this place is during its peak.

4. The view was spectacular and calming, however, the hike to the top was a little bit strenuous for unfit me :(

5. I was and still am so sad because the sun decided to show itself when I started walking down. I really want to take picture of Haneul Park when it is sunny and the sky is blue :(

6. Anyway, Haneul Park is quite far from the subway exit. I had to ask around. Ya Allah, most people that I met here are oldies and they don't speak English. Even the people at information center talk to me in Korean. Thank god for hours that I spent on watching K-dramas cause I magically understand what they were saying.

7. Talking about oldies, today of all days, most of ahjummas that I met were staring at me. With my limited understanding of Korea, I knew they were talking about my clothes. Most of them were saying it must be hot for me to wear something that covered your whole body. They were also talking about my headscarf. Some of the ahjummas flipped and played around with my shawls. I was kind of speechless with the situation. Can't help but to feel like an alien :(

8. Went back to my guesthouse for few hours cause honestly, I need my rest. My legs were trembling and shaking when I was on my way back from Haneul Park.

7. After taking sweet rest, I went for Dongdaemun to eat ikan bakar again. The ahjumma recognized me :D

8. Decided to check out Banpo Bridge Rainbow Fountain cause I don't know when will I have free time at night again. It was kind of nightmare because I was rushing to catch the last show. I took a line 4 subway and it was quite far from the exit. It took me half an hour to 45 minutes to reach the Banpo Bridge.

9. Though, I have to say that if I am not in a rush, I will probably spend hours walking to Banpo Bridge because the view along the way is so pretty!

10. The show itself was quite a letdown because I did not really see the rainbow.

11. Went to Some Sevit after that. Three floating island made the Some Sevit. Spent quite some time cause the islands are pretty with those light show. However, I only entered one building cause I need to increase my sugar level.

12. Went to Gong Cha and the staffs there were very friendly! I really love them. They explained very well the direction to the Express Bus Terminal subway station. However, they went above and beyond by telling me about the free shuttle bus. They took their time to draw the direction to the free shuttle bus waiting area despite the language barrier. Thank you so much girls! :)

[#FarahXSouthKorea] Day 3 & 4

Day 3

SHINee
SHINee

1. Didn't do much on day 3. I only went to K-Style Hub (again!) and to Pyeong Chang 2018 K-pop Concert.

2. Went to K-Style Hub to pick up show tickets that I won. Guess I'm gonna take cruise across Hangang while watching a show! :D

3. Went to the free concert for the first time. Got a seat near to the stage but most of the time I only watched the idols's and the hosts' back. They kept standing and performing at the extended stage.

4. The stadium is huge but it was not full.

5. It's kinda interesting to see how Koreans and Chinese people enjoy the concert.

6. Though it was said that recording and taking picture using professional camera are not allowed, most of the people in my section had these bazooka lens - recording and taking picture. Pretty sure they are fansite masters.

7. I got to see B2ST and SHINee at once! I actually came for Onew but Onew did not attend this concert cause he was injured during SHINee concert. I am so sad!

8. Jeon Hyun Moo was so perasan that I waved and smiled at him - he smiled and made peace for me! Haha :p I was helping a girl beside me to get noticed by her favourite gagman. not Jeon Hyun Moo. Anyway, the girl got mini hearts from her favourite gagman, she's almost cried.

Day 4

Myeongdong Cat Cafe

1. Didn't do much again! I woke up late as we were back around 1 AM.

2. Decided to check out YG Entertainment building as I heard it is pretty near to my guesthouse. Turned out, it is super super super close. I took a long way and it took me less than 5 minutes. I'll try to go again using the shortest way. lol!

3. I was then contemplating to go to City Hall or Myeongdong. They are close to each other but I only had so much energy. Really want to check out the festival at the City Hall though!

4. Decided to go to Myeongdong Cat Cafe. Pretty sure it is not the cat cafe that I'm planning to go but it's okay. When I went there, most of the cats were sleeping. When almost all of them were awake, I am the one who was sleepy. lol!

5. Stopped at Gong Cha after that for my buble tea dose. Of course Chatime is better, but Gong Cha Korea is not bad. They are pretty decent but quite expensive.

6. Went to Yoogane Myeongdong to eat the super famous seafood fried rice. Didn't ask for cheese cause I think it is kinda weird to eat rice with cheese. Anyway, I think I got a smaller portion because I was alone but I got charged the same. I am super sad!

7. Went to Cheonggyecheon Stream and Cheonggye Plaza again to see how the places look like during the night. There were so many couples that it made me feel like a loser cause I was alone. haha! There was also some kind of night market. Most of them were selling arts.

[#FarahXSouthKorea] Day 2

Day 2

Ikan Bakar Dongdaemun
Ikan Bakar Dongdaemun

1. I walked for 20km! Now my feet feel like jelly.

2. I walked from Cheonggye Plaza to Dongdaemun! Fuhhh, not going to do it again.

3. I FINALLY get to eat the ever famous Ikan Bakar Dongdaemun. I would say memang sedaplah. The ahjumma owner and her son are very very very nice! She fixed my shawl when I was wearing my backpack. She also gave free something to a group of Malaysian girls.

4. Speaking about Malaysians, I bumped into so many Malaysians. I just smiled and nodded my head as an acknowledgement sign.

5. I saw a lot of police like A LOT today. There were more than 15 buses of police guarding few protests at Gwanghwamun Square.

6. There are so many festivals right now. Any open spaces are pretty much occupied.

7. Song Joong Ki is everywhere! Hopefully his image will not be consumed so soon.

8. I finally met the handsome guy (the one who people always talk about!) at the Arirang Souvenir Shop. Haha!

9. I already bought my first souvenir on my second day, masya Allah.

10. I just realized that Dongdaemun Design Plaza's rooftop is covered with grass.

[#FarahXSouthKorea] Day 1

Day 1

Somewhere around Hapjeong-dong
Somewhere around Hapjeong-dong

1. Was lost while finding my way to my guesthouse. Bumped into a very kind-hearted ahjussi who is willing to help me finding my way. *He left his Benz at the side of the road and walked me to the guesthouse*

2. Was lost again while finding my way to guesthouse at night. Am thankful I didn't listen to my heart to go to Hongdae as it might be more dangerous if I went back later at night.

3. I find it is very cute when I am communicating with Koreans. Most of the time I will speak in English except few words that I know (kamsahamnida!) and they replied me in Korean.

4. Referring to the point 4, an ahjumma helped me when I was stuck with my giant luggage at the subway. I explained my situation in English and later using body language, she replied me with Korean thorough and thorough. Thank God we both understand each other!

5. Kinda ashamed with myself as I am not fit enough to walk fast like Koreans!

6. An ahjumma wanted to help me when I was struggling to bring my luggage down when I was on my way to my subway exit. Very thankful to her although I declined her offer. :)

p.s: I am so sorry I am unable to spend time reading your blogs in the next few weeks. Am definitely will start blogwalking again once I get my life sorted out :)

On Being Alone And Independent

Should make a comeback with a happy and lighter note but I need to let this out.

I think I am so used to being alone and independent that I find it is hard to live together with my family again. Don't get me wrong. I love my family, I really do, but after living independently and alone (with my friends) for the past 4 years, it is hard for me to be dependent (again) on my parents and sisters.

I am so used to get things done according to my time, my ways, and my styles. However, when living together with my family, I need to do things according to their time, their ways, and their styles. And honestly, I kind of feel suffocated by that fact. Hopefully, I will feel better with time.

Oh well, I just need to learn compromising again!

And no, there will be no post about my New York City trip in the next few months. I'm so sorry. I'm just so lazy. lol. However, I might upload random pictures here and there. Cos you know, I really really love playing with VSCO filters and sharing pictures so much :D

On Love & Forever

Things that I learned about love and forever after watching a Philippine movie.

To believe in forever is a choice.

Forever is choosing to love each other every waking day.

Forever is giving another unlimited chances to love you right everyday.

OMG! This was written ages ago. I need more hilarious yet romantic Philippine movies like this! Haha.

Niagara Falls, New York

Never ending post about Niagara Falls. I know. I know. Well, we just got to embrace it :)

Niagara Falls, New York, USA
As seen from Rainbow Bridge

Went to Niagara Falls few weeks ago for a pressing matter and decided to cross the border to see Niagara Falls from the US side. It was interesting to see Niagara Falls from the US side. It gave me a different feeling from when I see Niagara Falls from the Canadian side.

Interesting thing to note
You have to pay a toll if you're walking from Canadian side to the US side. The toll is 50 cents and you are allow to pay it using CAD or USD. Based on the current currency exchange rates, it is actually cheaper to pay the toll using CAD.

Niagara Falls, New York, USA

I have read on the net that the view from Canadian side is more pretty and mesmerizing from the US side. And I couldn't agree more! The view of Niagara Falls from the US side is kinda restricted. Well, at least from where I observed the view. I don't really get to see the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls. I don't even get to see the whole Horseshoe Falls.

Niagara Falls, New York, USA

Though I have to say that I may get the better view of Niagara Falls if I decided to hop on the Maid of the Mist cause they have this high observation platform for their passengers. I also may get to see the better view of Niagara Falls if I decided to walk around the Niagara Falls State Park.

Niagara Falls, New York, USA

Anyway, I am still super stoked cause I got to see Niagara Falls from both sides. Alhamdulillah for this opportunity :)

Road Trip To Bruce Peninsula National Park

Have been wanting to update about this road trip to Bruce Peninsula National Park since last week but I was too occupied with my guests. Well, I haven't seen them since we came to Canada so there were a lot of things that we need to talk about. Plus, we had a sendiri-sendiri Korean dramas marathon. Oh my god, we were like the definition of unemployed bums for the past few days. lol!

Anyway, I figured I should update about this road trip now than later before I become lazy or too occupied with my other personal affairs.

On May 13 (it was Friday the 13th btw, hehe!), we rent a car to send our soon-to-be-shipped-to-Malaysia stuff to our senior house. After we done with sending our stuff, my housemate drove us to Bruce Peninsula National Park. Bak kata orang, alang-alang dah ada kereta, kita keluar merayap la. Bukan selalu. Plus, Bruce Peninsula National Park is not really public-transport friendly. So, bila dah ada kereta, kita pergi sahajalah.

Bruce Peninsula National Park is 3 hour-ish away from Guelph. The view along the way was so pretty and calming. It reminded us both a little bit of Alberta. We were teased with the view of clear and blue water at some point before we arrived at Bruce Peninsula National Park. Ya Allah, we were shouting like a child as we were to excited to see the blue water because it reminded us about Alberta again.

Tobermory, Ontario, Canada
Tobermory

We didn't get to do many stuff or to go to many places because we were short of time. We arrived at Tobermory around 2 PM-ish and we left Bruce Peninsula National Park around 10 PM-ish. In those short frame of time, we only managed to cover Tobermory, Indian Head Cove, and The Grotto. We planned to go to Fathom Five National Marine Park and Flowerpot Island where we can see a lot of shipwrecks and more beautiful scenery, however, we missed the last boat. They usually have more boats going to and fro Fathom Five National Marine Park and Flowerpot Island but the service for peak season hasn't started yet, so ...

Indian Head Cove, Bruce Peninsula National Park, Ontario, Canada (4)
Indian Head Cove

Right after we had our lunch at Tobermory, we headed to the Indian Head Cove and The Grotto. Had to do a little bit of hiking but it was totally worth it! Well, the hike was super easy anyway. The trail is well-paved. You can even hike to the Indian Head Cove and The Grotto wearing heels if you want!

Indian Head Cove, Bruce Peninsula National Park, Ontario, Canada (5)
Indian Head Cove

We spent most of our times here as you know cause we were busy doing our failed grad shoot. As we were busy doing our failed grad shoot, I did not have a chance to properly shoot the beautiful scenery here. Rasa nak menangis bila tengok gambar-gambar yang hampeh dalam hard disk ni T_____T I should just take the scenery pictures instead of my pictures! Ughhhhhhhh >.<

Indian Head Cove, Bruce Peninsula National Park, Ontario, Canada (7)

While we were doing our own failed photoshoot, there was a couple doing their wedding photoshoot. It was interesting to see cause it was very Bollywood-like. Rasa macam tengok Hindustan sikit. And they used drones to capture the moments too. I am truly wondering if drones are allowed in a national park. As far as I know, drones are not allowed in national park. Hmmm, I should google for an answer to this question.

The Grotto, Bruce Peninsula National Park, Ontario, Canada
The Grotto

We then moved to The Grotto after my roommate was satisfied with her pictures at the Indian Head Cove. We did not really take many pictures at The Grotto because we were so tired. We just sat snapped few pictures and sat around enjoying the scenery.

The Grotto

After we had enough of the scenery (honestly, you'll never get enough of the scenery but you just have to move on!) we went to Tobermory again for dinner before my friend driving us back to Guelph.

Conclusively, it was a day well-spent and a memorable road trip! :)

And I just have to say this. Bruce Peninsula National Park is truly alluring. It honestly reminded me of Jasper National Park so much! (You guys know how much I love Jasper National Park, right?) I just wish I went there when the weather is nice and the temperature is higher cause Bruce Peninsula National Park looks amazing during sunny days!

Failed Grad Shoot!

Went to Tobermory, Ontario last Friday with my housemate for a day trip. She suggested an impromptu grad shoot at Tobermory because Tobermory is beautiful.

The verdict of the impromptu grad shoot?

AN EPIC FAIL!

Farah H at Tobermory, Ontario
Sakit tengkuk akak mendongak! LOL :D

All I have from the impromptu grad shoot is hundreds of derpy and ugly candid pictures in Tobermory. Well, that's what you get when the graduation gown is malfunctioned; you are not mentally ready for a photoshoot and you're such a kayu you don't even know how to pose properly.

Such a waste because Tobermory is truly beautiful! *sobs sobs sobs*

[Q] 20-Hour Layover In South Korea

Hello everyone!

I know this blog is might not be the best platform to ask this question, but I'll shoot the question anyway :)

I'm looking for some itinerary or suggestions of things that I can do in Seoul on 20 hours. I have been looking around the net and found few things that I am interested in. However, I would like to hear opinions from Malaysians who have been in Seoul pula :)

I know it's kinda a broad question. I honestly am open to any suggestions but listed below are things that you may want to consider before suggesting something.

Insya Allah,

1. It's going to be Ramadhan
2. My flight will arrive in Incheon at 3:10 PM and will leave Incheon at 11:00 AM the next day
3. I don't plan to sleep that night so I will have more time to explore Seoul

So, if you know few things or activities that are doable in Seoul in 20 hours during Ramadhan (in my specific time frame - 3:10 PM - 11:00 AM +1), feel free to leave a comment or send an email to me. I would appreciate it! Thank you! :)

The Halal Guys, New York City

I think I'm going to start updating about my trip to NYC soon. But I'm not really sure how soon is soon. hehe! Have to go over thousands of pictures which half of it are most probably my selfies. We'll see.

Anyway, when I was in NYC, I managed to eat The Halal Guys twice. I tried The Halal Guys for the first time after I was done with my visit to Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and then I ate it again before I went to EXO Planet #2 - The EXO'luXion in New York. Honestly, I was intrigued to try The Halal Guys because of the hype. I kept reading that The Halal Guys is so good, yadda yadda! Even my senior recommended The Halal Guys to me despite knowing that I'm quite fussy when it comes to food.

The Halal Guys - 53rd Street and 6th Avenue

I tried The Halal Guys cart at 53rd Street and Sixth Avenue after visiting MoMa. And guys, believe me, the food is to die for! Like seriously, the hype is not just a hype! It is real! I tried their combo platter because I was rice-deprived at that time. It was so so so delicious. The portion was big and the price was cheap. It only costed me $7 for the combo platter. And just so you know, $7 for a meal in NYC is such a steal!

The Halal Guys - 53rd Street and 6th Avenue

I was lucky because the line was short when I bought my combo platter. Right after I got my combo platter, the line became so long. I was amused cause it was cold (winter, guys!) and people did not mind to line up just to get the taste of The Halal Guys. Well, I even fascinated by myself cause I sat across the cart and ate my combo platter there. *The cold never bothered me anyway*

Cold weather + hot and spicy food (put too much hot sauce) = heaven

The Halal Guys - 720 Amsterdam Avenue

I was so smitten by the taste of The Halal Guys that I decided to eat it one more time. I kept saying to myself, "Have to eat The Halal Guys one more time before going back to Canada! Have to!" This time, I went to their restaurant at 720 Amsterdam Avenue because it's only a few blocks away from my hostel. Besides, I was short of time. I had to go early to Prudential Center to pick up my lightstick.

I think their restaurant is very clean, cute and comfortable. Most probably because I came when they just opened their restaurant for the day. lol! I ordered the same thing; the combo platter. However, the price was different. It costed me $7.99 instead of $7. I asked one of the employees about the price difference and according to him, the price is higher at restaurant because they need to pay taxes. Make sense.

The Halal Guys - Combo Platter

As the environment and ambiance were different, so did the taste. ha! I found the combo platter sold at the cart was tastier. I don't know why, maybe because I was starving when I bought my combo platter at the cart but they tasted different. Or maybe I was not fully awake when I went to The Halal Guys for the second time. hehe.

General tips to eat The Halal Guys: Put a lot of like a loooooooooooooottt of white sauce because the white sauce is so good! Put just a little of hot sauce because the sauce is hot like seriously HOT! You're going to burn your tongue if you put too much hot sauce *This comes from a girl who loves spicy and hot food*

Anyway, I highly recommend you all to try The Halal Guys if you have a chance. Insya Allah, it will worth you money and satisfy your taste buds. Hopefully they will open their restaurant in Malaysia soon!

Long Overdue Appreciation Post; Ray, Sandy, Hanis, Mazni & Kak Sally

Assalamualaikum!

I'm back again with this long overdue appreciation post. I know I suck at doing follow ups but trust me, I truly appreciate everything that all of you have done for me.

I'll message every single individual once I get other important things done. I'm sorry if I come across as unappreciative but I'm in the middle of figuring my life out. Hope you all understand.

Postcards, letter, and fridge magnet

Ray
I think I am connected to Ray on a spiritual level. I saw his Facebook updates where he said that he will be in Iceland for the next few days. Wanted to message him and ask him for a postcard but I did not because I think it's kinda inappropriate to ask him for something. Right after I decided not to message him, he messaged me and asked for my Canadian address. Oh boy! I was so excited :D

Sandy
I received a surprise letter from Sandy. Sandy did not tell me that she's sending me something so I it was a pure bliss when I found her handwritten letter among all my bills.O Allah, how I love handwritten letters <3

Hanis
Received an unexpected Hradec Kralove postcard from Hanis. As far as I remember, Hanis never told me anything about sending me a postcard. So, it was a pleasant surprise to see another postcard in my mailbox. Thank you, Hanis! :)

Mazni
Mazni sent me a postcard of Kalbarri, Western Australia and a fridge magnet! Hip hip hurray! This one was a pleasant surprise too because I thought she sent the stuff to my Malaysian address. Was so happy when I opened the envelope. Thank you, Mazni! Truly appreciate it :D

Kak Sally
I commented on a picture on Kak Sally's Instagram saying something like "the owl is so cute" and kak Sally promised me to send a postcard if she has leftovers. I guess she did have some leftovers because I received an owl postcard from kak Sally. Well, pretty sure it is from kak Sally eventhough there is no sender's name. Kamsahamnida, kak Sally! :)

Again, thank you everyone! I feel so loved and in return, I hope Allah will send you love in abundance.

That One Time I Wanted To Take A Selfie

That one time I wanted to take a selfie with the snow, the wind blew so hard I could barely open my eyes! It is the second week of spring yet the snow is still here. Allahu. I am still amazed with how Canada can experience all four seasons in a week. Sunny on one day, rainy on the next day and snowy on the other day.

Snowy spring day
The struggle was real. lol :p

Dear 23-Year-Old Farah

Dear 23-year-old Farah,

Sorry for failing you on your very first day. Sorry for messing with your life. Sorry for shattering your life. I will try harder to pick up the shattered pieces of your life and let you live your life to the fullest in the future, insya Allah.

Till then, please be patient and pray that Allah will grant strength to me while I am picking up all those shattered pieces.

EXO Planet #2 - The EXO'luXion in New York

EXOluXion in New York

EXO Planet #2 - The EXO'luXion in New York. Or, more like EXO Planet #2 - The EXO'luXion in New Jersey as it was held in New Jersey! Went to this concert on 160221 and had one of the most exhilarating nights of my life! *I want to relive this night over and over again*

Bought the concert ticket wayyyyyyyy before getting my US visa approved. Such a huge gamble I know but I was so determined to see EXO. Seeing them in Vancouver was not an option because Vancouver is too far from Guelph and it is more expensive to travel to Vancouver than New York City. Plus, I have been planning to go to US during the reading week since last year. So, off to New York City I go!

Though, I have to say that I did not plan to go to New York City initially. My original plan was to go to Los Angeles for a week and catch their concert in Los Angeles but too bad, I had so many assignments due on the date that I planned to fly to Los Angeles.

Back to the concert!

We Sing For You

The concert was organized by MyMusicTaste (MMT). I am pretty sure that EXO concerts are their biggest scene to date. They are very very very new in the scene so there were a lot of problems and misinformation happened before and during the concert. Like seriously, I felt like pulling my hair out because they kept changing the rules and stuff. I can write a long post listing my dissatisfaction but I rather not cause I am still thankful that they managed to bring EXO to this side of the world.

The concert was held at the Prudential Center, New Jersey. Very very very near to the Newark Penn Station. I think it only took me 4 minutes to walk from Newark Penn Station to Prudential Center. Went there 3 hours before the concert because I need to pick up my light stick. After I picked up my light stick, I spent the remaining hours watching flashmob and writing postcards. lol!

View from my seat

I was allowed to go in around 5:30 PM because I was not in GA section. Ya Allah, the lines were such a mess! Everyone kept pushing each other. Ughhhh, tak lari EXO tu! The security check in was tight too. They have this scanner machine like at the airport and they checked every bag. Managed to seludup my GoPro but I did not get to use it because few of the security guards saw my GoPro and gave me a warning! Darn, sedih sangat :(

So, all of my videos and pictures are in low quality because my phones suck big time! Thus, I am going to put the videos and pictures that I screencaptured from HD fancams. Thank you Juliette Nguyen and 7MinMin99 for the HD fancams!

The concert started quite late. Not really sure when it started but pretty sure it was later than 6:30 PM. Man, the hype in the venue was cray cray crazy! Everyone was chanting for EXO! My heart was beating so fast before the concert! Like seriously, I felt like I almost had a heart attack. I told myself to calm down and enjoy the concert like a civilized person would do. But, all those pep talk went down the drain once the concert started.

EXOluXion in New York

I found myself chanting and screaming along with other people! I screamed my lungs out throughout the concert specially for D.O. Oh my abang pendek! I cannot believe that I finally got to see you with my own eyes even though from a distance! Kahkahkah! Cannot believe myself until today >.<

I am not going to talk in detailed about the concert. I am just going to highlight few things and performances that I really like and thankful for from the concert.

But before that, how do people watch the artists during the concert? I mean, I want to see them in flesh so I spent most of the concert time watching their performance directly. But at the same time, I do not want to miss all those small little things so I spent quite some time watching them through the screen too. Nak jawapan please :)

EXO - Peter Pan

Peter Pan! Peter Pan was my jam for few months after it was released. To listen this song live was a bliss. The choreography was very cute too! :D
EXO - Christmas Day

Christmas Day!!! Christmas Day is my guilty pleasure song every December! I love the choreography as they are playing with their suspenders. But during this concert, they did not really play with the suspenders even though they were wearing one. It's okay! And I really love D.O's voice in this song :D

EXO - Don't Go

Don't Go is my all-time favourite song from EXO. This is my kind of song! And I was really hoping that they will sing this song. Thank God they did! And I really really really love the choreography even though it was very simple. The butterflies, the houses. So much love for this song!

EXO - Exodus

Really love the chorus of this song! Listened to this song few times before the concert because I have stopped listening to EXO for a while. And fell in love with this song almost instantaneously.

EXO - Call Me Baby

I hated this song when it was first released! However, I have no idea how did I get hooked into this song. New York City must have done something to my brain because I only listened to this song properly when I was in New York City.

EXO - Love Me Right

I actually did not realize that EXO has released this song for quite some time until few days before the concert. Told ya, I stopped listening to them for a while. Love Me Right is such a party song! The hype during the concert was no joke! Bergegar lantai stadium tu.

EXO - Unfair

Such a cute cute cute song! D.O. sounded very relaxed in this song. And Suho sounded so cute! Love his adllibs too :D

EXO - First Snow

Have loved this song since it was first released along with the Christmas Day and Miracles in December. Cute! Cute! Cute!

EXO - My Answer

I refrained myself from shouting D.O. or Kyungsoo when they were singing My Answer because it is a slow song. But, yes, D.O.! Pretty sure my answer is you <3

EXO - Sing For You

Such an emotional song. The song sounded so beautiful especially when the fans started to sing along. Or at least that's what I felt at that time. And I swear, Suho sounded like he was going to cry at one point.

I was so happy because I got to listen to the songs above live during the concert. Those are my favourites. I almost cried when I listen to all the slow songs. And I was so busy singing and grooving along to the fast songs. Emotional and hyper as heck!

Post concert, I find that Let Out The Beast, Run, and Machine are not bad too! I guess I love the concert version. Such an adrenaline rush! :D

Talking about the members, all of them are so handsome. I do not care if it is because of their make up or whatnot, but they are really handsome! Especially Suho! I think Suho shines the most in terms of look! And he is very very very nice and gentle! I cannot emphasize enough how angelic Suho is but he is verrrrryyyyyyyyyy nice! He also speaks decent English! He tried to communicate with us in English most of the times. So considerate of him! Please show Suho some love EXO-Ls, because apparently Suho does not have many fans compare to other members.

As for D.O. what else can I say? He is such a babe. Of course I am biased! hahaha! He is so cute and very chibi! His voice is very lovely. He got so many lines too! Wohooooooo! Thank God he did not make many mistakes. However, I do feel that his voice was quite restrained during the concert. I guess he did not get enough rest.

I cannot say much about other members because I did not really pay attention to them cause I was so busy looking at D.O. lol! But, the beagle line (Chen, Baekhyun, and Chanyeol) really act like their usual self. So loud, cheerful, playful and did not really pay attention when someone was talking. haha! Oh, Baekhyun and Chen's voices are lovely too! Baek especially :)

I was most surprised about Xiumin. Xiumin was one of the most hyper members during the concert. He is very cuteeeeee considering his age and was very good with fanservice too. I think he deserves more chance to show his talent.

Not really sure about Sehun too except he is really the baby of the group. As for Kai, he has this mysterious charm surrounding him. He was so charismatic when he was dancing but was a little bit childish when he was talking or interacting with other members.

In case anyone wondering, Sehun and Chanyeol have the most fans in this concert. The screams and chants for both of them were deafening.

EXOluXion in New York
The concept of the picture is sexy cute according to Chanyeol.

I told this to Kak Nur but I am going to post it here. I went to the concert as a strictly D.O fan but I came back from the concert as a D.O fan who has a soft spot for Suho and Kai. Gilalah! Cannot believe myself! I mean I get why I can like Suho too before the concert. He is a very good looking guy! Suara pun sedap. But Kai?! I was not a big fan of him before because in my opinion, he got too much spotlight and attention when EXO first debuted. And I usually hate  member who always overshadow the other members. But after the concert, fuhhh, cair sikit hati akak dekat Kai. Ahaks :p

Anyway, it was a great night! As I said before, I wish to relive the night over and over again! I just wish I had a better seat and better phone cameras to record the concert. Guess who's planning to buy a new iPhone later? harharhar .______.

Hope to see you again, EXO! EXO, saranghaja! :D

Sopoong, IOI City Mall

Antara benda wajib setiap kali balik Malaysia ialah pergi makan makanan Korea sebab dekat Canada ni pilihan makanan Korea dia sangat-sangatlah terhad sebab makanannya kebanyakkan tak halal T__T

This time around melencong sikit daripada The Street Cafe, SS15, Subang Jaya sebab nak cuba benda baru. Mula-mula ingat nak pergi Sweetree, Ampang, tapi pasal takde siapa nak bawa, kita pergilah Sopoong dekat IOI City Mall ni.

Sopoong, IOI City Mall

Sopoong, IOI City Mall ni pun terletak dekat hujung dunia juga macam Boat Noodle, IOI City Mall ni. Terletak betul-betul bersebelahan District 21. Kak Nur kata. restoran Sopoong ni family business. So, memang yang uruskan restoran ni orang Korea. Cuma pekerja dia je bukan Korea. hihi. Macam dekat IOI City Mall ni, restoran ni diuruskan oleh seorang ahjumma.

Sopoong IOI City Mall

Interior Sopoong IOI City Mall ni memang lawalah. Cukup cantik bagi saya. Tengok pun tenang je mata memandang. Mengikut keterangan dekat menu dia, maksud Sopoong ni ialah picnic. Rasanya sebab tu interior dia macam ni kot. Ala-ala nature sikit. Ala-ala picnic dalam taman gituuu! Tapi menu dia, tak macam orang nak pergi picnic pun. hiks!

Sopoong, IOI City Mall

So, I went there with my best friend because we both crazy about anything Korean. lol :p Tidaklah. Sebenarnya dah janji nak belanja dia makan sebagai ucapan tahniah dia dah graduated. Ingatkan dia nak order lah benda-benda mahal sebab banyak lagi benda yang macam sedap dekat situ tapi dia cuma order noodle set: Jajangmyeon + Topokki 1/2 tu je. Punyalah baik dapat kawan macam ni.

Bulgogi Dolsot Bibimbap dan Jjajangmyeon dan half Topokki
What went into our stomachs

Jajangmyeon + Topokki 1/2 (MYR 16.90)
I didn't taste her food but she said, jajangmyeon sedap and topokki pedas. Most likely because she cannot really eat spicy food.

Bulgogi Dolsot Bibimbap (MYR 22.90)
Bulgogi Dolsot Bibimbap dekat sini tak manis macam yang dekat The Street Cafe, SS15, Subang Jaya tu. Sedap cuma macam ada benda yang kurang. Tak tahu apa. Dan, bibimbap saya tak panas berasap-asap like the way it supposed to be masa dihidangkan.

Banchan
Banchan or side dishes, whatever you call it, ni free dan boleh ditambah. Saya tak rasa kimchi dia sebab saya tak suka kimchi. Tapi, yang kobis dengan mayonnaise tu kot, sedap sangat! Saya suka :D

The bill came to MYR 41.75 after 10% discount. One happy tips for people out there, if you are a student or staff of UPM, UKM, or Uniten, you are entitled to 10% discount whenever you come to Sopoong IOI City Mall. So, don't forget to flash your student or staff card to get the 10% discount.

I seriously have no strong opinion about Sopoong. I may or may not come again in the future. And if I come again, I am most probably will try other menu. Cukup sudah dengan Bulgogi Dolsot Bibimbap.
